Interesting facts about the botanical book collections

The main collections in systematic botany are floras and monographs.

The stock of the former library of the Institute of Systematic Botany removed from the old location (Departmental Library for Law & Business Sciences) to the new base at the Departmental Library for Mathematics, Computer & Natural Sciences. A large part of the collection, especially the floras, will instead be held at the Herbarium as so-called “Handapparat”.

Earlier collections of the Institute of Systematic Botany are now deposited in the Natural History Museum Mainz: B. Haccius, W. Troll, and H. Weber.
